About Us

A captive insurance company, Pine Tree Insurance, A Reciprocal Risk Retention Group was founded in 1991 and is domiciled in Vermont.

Our subscribers include:

• Goodall Hospital in Sanford, Maine
• Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, Maine
• Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Maine

Each subscriber provides a a representative from senior management to serve on the Pine Tree Subscribers’ Advisory Committee (SAC). The SAC provides the fiduciary oversight of management, underwriting standards, business relationships and policy design.

Each subscriber provides a Risk Manager to serve on Pine Tree’s Risk Management Advisory Group. This group is responsible for developing both unique and common procedures to support your risk management efforts. The Risk Management Advisory Group works together to reduce risk and manage claims. This structure provides Pine Tree’s subscribers with more direct control of their risk and enhances their ability to lower costs.
